A member of the Higher Committee for Drug Prevention in the United Arab Emirates (Siraj). Dr. Abdullah has launched several initiatives in the field of rehabilitating patients and integrating them into society and raising awareness of issues related to drugs, including the 99 Dialogue with the Spirit program, which is the religious program approved by the center. And the Mamouh initiative, which gained the trust of many media agencies, as well as governmental and private ones. And the Luqman initiative concerned with instilling basic values in the family. He holds a master's degree in contemporary Islamic studies from Zayed University and a doctorate degree in the field of Quran and Sunnah from the International Islamic University in Malaysia.

Ali Younes has been the Regional Adviser for Terrorism Prevention at the Regional office for Middle East and North Africa (ROMENA) since 2016. Since May 1st 2021, he occupies the position of Regional adviser for the Terrorism Prevention Branch at Regional Offices for the Gulf Cooperation Council Region (OGCCR) at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). In the years 2014-2015, he served as program officer for UNODC/ TPB’s Section III of the Middle East, North Africa, the Gulf and Latin America and the Caribbean at the UNODC headquarters in Vienna. During his work in the Terrorism Prevention Branch, Mr. Younes has led a specialized team of officers in programs aimed at providing technical assistance to the countries of the region in the field of terrorism prevention (on the intelligence, security and judicial levels) in addition to extensive work on reviewing and passing legislation and strategies that comply with national and international counterterrorism strategies. He has served as Legal Officer for the Trial Chamber of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2014, and a visiting Professional in the legal advisory of its registry in 2010. He held several judicial positions in the Lebanese judiciary since joining it in 2001. He also served as the Special Assistant to the Director General of the Ministry of Justice in Lebanon. He has extensive experience in international law with regard to international terrorism law, international criminal law, human rights law, and international humanitarian law. He has extensive experience in comparative national and regional laws, criminal ones in particular. He holds a post graduate academic degree in law from the Judicial Studies Institute and the Lebanese University in Beirut, and European and International Security from the University of Geneva.

Dr. Abdulmunem AL Shehhi has a Ph.D. from Dubai University. His main study was about Knowledge Management. He has his Ph.D. after his Dissertation titled “Organizational Knowledge Systems in the UAE Government Entities. Furthermore, he has published many articles related to Knowledge Management and Organization Development. He has 22+ years of experience in industry engagements in the management and engineering sectors a proven record of accomplishment of industry accomplishments and research in adopting innovative technologies, backed by academic publications. A focused, results and process-oriented individual offers significant strategic management experience, creative business leadership qualities, and the ability to seamlessly blend in industry and academic perspectives to contribute to cutting-edge teaching and research initiatives. Dr. Abdulmunem is an Analytical Researcher with 7+ years of research and hands-on experience in Organization Development, Project Management, and Knowledge Management. In addition, he has been awarded from Rashid Award Scientific Outstanding for his Scientific achievement.

Vahid Fotuhi is Founder and Chief Impact Officer of Impact Adventures, a UK and UAE registered company focused on helping clients meet their CSR and ESG targets. Vahid is also Vice President, EMEA region at SOURCE Global, a sustainable water company. Based in Dubai, he oversees a diverse team that is introducing a new innovation, renewable water, to markets across the Middle East, Europe and Africa. Prior to this, Vahid was Managing Director at Access Power, a leading developer, owner and operator of energy infrastructure assets in Africa and Central Asia. During his six years at Access he originated, developed and helped secure financing for solar and wind power projects in 12 countries, delivering over $600m worth of clean energy projects to tens of millions of people. From 2009 until 2012, Vahid was the Regional Director for BP Solar Middle East, the region’s largest off-grid solar systems provider. Prior to that, Vahid worked in North Africa where he was in charge of Government Affairs for BP’s $2.4bn Algeria division. Vahid is the Founder of the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA), the largest and most active solar trade organization in the Middle East, established in Dubai in 2009. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University. Dr. Mohamed Youssef is a Principal Researcher and has 18 years of professional and academic experience. He obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in economics from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University in 2016. He worked as a researcher and then a principal researcher at the Egyptian Investment Authority since 2005. He later became a member of the scientific committee at the Saudi Institute of Public Administration. He also worked as a visiting professor for graduate studies at Cairo University. He worked as an associate researcher at the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research.

Rahaf Al Khazraji joined TRENDS Research and Advisory as a research assistant in 2020. Her areas of interest include foreign policy, international relations and international security. She has published several “Insight” online articles with TRENDS and other think tanks relating to foreign policy and international security. Rahaf gained practical knowledge in the field of international relations while working as an intern in the government sector. She has also expanded her inter-personal and project management skills through interning in the Corporate Social Responsibility Department at Total Foundation, a multinational energy company. Rahaf Al Khazraji graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Affairs from Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Sultan Majed Al-Ali is a Deputy Head of Scientific Research Affairs in TRENDS Research & Advisory. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi, with a major in International Affairs. Sultan is also enrolled with the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center (Ibn Al-Dar program), which specializes in tour guide programs.

Dr. Alexander Herzner is Assistant-Professor for CSR, sustainability and business excellence. As a consultant and CEO of UBB he is supporting organizations on the path to Business Excellence with unique tools and methods. Dr. Al Kuwaiti is currently holding the position of the Managing Director of the National Data Centre under the Supreme Council for National Security. He is also working as Assistant Professor (Adjunct) of Homeland Security Program at Rabdan Academy. In his current role Dr. Al Kuwaiti aims to create a fully governed approach to data privacy, sharing and processing as well as the unification and connectivity of government systems and digitization towards a smart government In 2013, Dr. Al Kuwaiti joined the National Electronic Security Authority and held He held various positions. As the Executive Director of Government Operations, where he managed the National and International government relations. Executive Director of Operations Analysis and Cyber Security. In 2011, Dr. Al Kuwaiti was the Chief Technical Analyst at Ministry of Interior where he directed and managed various technical and administrative tasks. He also held other positions, such as Operations Director and CTO of the Counter Terrorism Center. He was also stationed as a Defense, Air, and Naval Military Attaché at the Embassy of The United Arab Emirates in Washington, D.C. Dr. Al-Kuwaiti has published numerous studies and lectured at many conferences such as IEEE, RSA, Cyber Warfare Europe, Tele Strategies, ISS World MEA, IDEX, International Anti-Cyber Crimes Conference, Future War Summit etc., Dr. Al-Kuwaiti presented the UAE Cyber Security Framework at INTERPOL in Singapore. He also organized various events such as National Cyber Security Exercise and Cyber Quest. His interests are consulting on detecting, monitoring and responding to cyber warfare, Network Forensics, Corporate Governance & Process, and national cyber policy. He is an honorable member of Society of Engineers – UAE, IEEE Society, Golden Key National Honor Society and Computer Society. He is a visiting lecturer on Cyber Security at few universities such as Khalifa University and National Defense College in Abu Dhabi. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Al-Kuwaiti holds a Doctorate in Computer Engineering and Network Security from George Washington University in the USA and a M.Sc. degree in Telecommunications and Computer Networks. He also holds a M.A. degree in International and Civil Security. Dr. Al-Kuwaiti has won various awards such as Best Lecturer, Dean honors list, leadership Awards, best Design Projects.
